Kufah Institute and Seminary Faculty Position

Kufah Institute and Seminary, an Islamic educational institution in Tampa, Florida, is seeking dynamic and accomplished ‘ulama to join our faculty. We are looking for one to two faculty to join us locally onsite each year over the next 3-4 years and offer flexible opportunities for adjunct, part-time, and full-time positions depending on the circumstances of the applicant.

Position Overview

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in developing our Diploma of Islamic Studies (DIS) and Advanced Islamic Studies and Leadership (AISL) programs, teaching courses across various Islamic disciplines and contributing to the intellectual vibrancy of our academic community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach courses in Islamic Studies, such as Qur’anic studies, Hadith, Sirah, Islamic law and legal theory, Theology, and Contemporary Issues
  • Develop and update curriculum to ensure academic rigor and relevance
  • Mentor and advise students in their academic and professional development
  • Participate in faculty meetings, committees, and institutional initiatives
  • Contribute to the growth and enhancement of Kufah Institute’s academic programs

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Completion of an ‘Alimiyyah or equivalent Shariah degree from an Islamic Seminary
  • Completion of an undergraduate or graduate degree, preferably in the humanities or social sciences
  • Oral and written fluency in English, fluency in Classical Arabic
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching
  • Ability to bridge classical Islamic scholarship with contemporary academic methodologies
  • Interest in designing curricula for a wide range of learners
  • Willingness to support the mission and values of Kufah Institute
